India Women Crush Pakistan by Seven Wickets in Asia Cup

India bowled Pakistan out for 55 in Dubai and completed the chase in only 8.4 overs, with Shree Charani named player of the match.

India dominated with the ball

India produced a commanding bowling performance against Pakistan in their Group A meeting at the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup in Dubai. Pakistan chose to bat first and reached 27 without loss before the innings changed sharply. Once Muneeba Ali was dismissed, wickets fell regularly and Pakistan were bowled out for only 55 in 18.1 overs. Shree Charani returned figures of 3 for 7, while Prema Rawat took 3 for 9. Deepti Sharma added two wickets and kept the scoring under tight control.

The chase was short despite early wickets

Pakistan captain Fatima Sana briefly created pressure by taking all three Indian wickets to fall, but the target was too small to defend. India reached 57 for 3 in 8.4 overs. Harmanpreet Kaur finished unbeaten on 18 and ensured the chase did not become complicated. The result was Pakistan’s first defeat of the tournament and strengthened India’s position in the group.

Why the result matters

The size of the victory highlighted India’s bowling depth, especially through spin, and improved the team’s momentum at a key stage of the competition. Pakistan remain in contention but face an important final group match against Hong Kong on September 7. For India, the performance adds confidence ahead of the knockout stage.
