‘Mirzapur: The Movie’ Nears ₹80 Crore Worldwide After Two Days

The big-screen adaptation earned an estimated ₹32 crore net in India on Saturday, taking its reported worldwide gross to about ₹79.55 crore after two days.

A strong second day

‘Mirzapur: The Movie’ has continued its strong opening at the box office. According to figures reported by The Indian Express from industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned an estimated ₹32 crore net in India on its second day, an increase of roughly 24% from its opening-day performance.

Where the totals stand

After Saturday, the film’s reported India net total stood at ₹57.75 crore, while India gross was estimated at ₹69.30 crore. Overseas collections took the worldwide gross to around ₹79.55 crore after two days. Early Sunday ticket sales were already adding to the total as the film entered its first full weekend.

Why the movie has become a major event

The film converts one of Indian streaming’s most recognisable crime franchises into a theatrical release. Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyendu and Ravi Kishan are among the key names attracting viewers, while the franchise’s existing fan base has helped generate strong opening demand.

What to watch next

The first Monday will be the most important test. Opening weekends are often driven by fans and advance booking, while weekday collections indicate whether a film can sustain broader audience interest. Theatrical success could also encourage more established streaming franchises to experiment with cinema releases.
